Outpost Security Suite receives one more VB100 award – now under Windows Server 2008 R2

We are glad to announce the results of the latest anti-virus tests carried out by Virus Bulletin magazine on Outpost Security Suite Pro 6.7.3.

In total, 33 personal anti-virus and security suite products running under Microsoft Windows Server R2 were tested. The test platform proved challenging for some vendors who focus primarily on 32-bit system support rather than 64-bit, resulting in a decreased number of participants.

One of the earliest 64-bit security solutions with consistent compatibility improvements from iteration to iteration, Outpost showed a solid performance and effective detection rates in the results as reported by Virus Bulletin:

"Agnitum’s Outpost has put in a string of solid performances of late; it has a straightforward and unflashy approach providing several protective layers in a well-ordered, solid-feeling interface … With no problems handling the WildList and no false alarms in the clean sets, Agnitum scoops up another VB100 award and gets this month’s test off to a good start."

Just to remind you, the latest version of Outpost Security Suite, version 7.0, extends its arsenal of protection with new measures against ID theft and corruption of locally stored assets:
  • protection for hidden login details and passwords stored by the browser, IM exchanges, and electronic payment processors
  • protection for locally-stored confidential data against corruption by viruses and spyware
  • file and registry activity monitor for deep analysis of local activity
  • redesigned user interface with a Windows 7 look and feel
  • overhauled heuristic analyzer
  • return of the popular "stop words" list to prevent users inadvertently accessing malicious web content.
