Here's another article in Outpost 7.5 series.
Have you ever considered security dangers associated with USB storage devices? The new feature will prevent malware-infested memory sticks, flash drives etc. from bringing harm to your PC!
In order to combat malware which spreads via USB storage devices by using Windows autorun vulnerability, Outpost 7.5 now includes specific USB virus protection that may operate in a few scenarios. Advanced users can opt to:
- Disable the launch of autorun.inf file without blocking the programs
- Completely block the USB device
- Block ALL executable files and scripts on the USB device / just executables and scripts unverified with the publisher's digital signature
Moreover, the autorun section of storage devices is checked for malware before all other data to immediately pinpoint suspicious activity and save resources.
Stay tuned for more postings as we approach the public beta of Outpost 7.5!

after malware scaning i had to click "NEXT" in suit.yesterday i scaned pc(last 2 hour).
i forget to click next and click cancel.if find new threats , implement aotomatic to quarantine after all scaning.
With USB protection there will be only one "hole" left and that is network shares. Component control doesn't alert about new/unknown executables when launched form a share.
You do not need to download this virus in order for it to invade; it can simply find its way onto your computer while you are searching for similar programs on legitimate sites. This makes it difficult to distinguish between legitimate programs and this virus which can cause havoc with your computer and the precious data stored in it.

Great feature.
I've using my USB drive with most infected location. Such as Internet Cafe, Computer Room, My friend's computer and Workstations.
For comment 3/03/2011 02:07:00 PM:
Outpost's on-access virus protection covers network shares (this setting is not checked by default), so we are not agree that "hole" is really present - if you need more security, just check the box.
Penelope, if you need our technical support, please contact themdirectly here www.agnitum.com/support/
What about Outpost Firewall Pro users? They don't have a setting to protect network shares. It is unclear to me how this would have to be anti-virus related because component control treats all executables the same and as an administrator I want to prevent any unknown programs to be started from there. That is why I like this feature of OFP.
For 3/15/2011 01:22:00 PM comment: Network shares are located at another PC. How do you want to control another PC components? It's not possible, so only Anti-Malware engine controls it in real life.
