Outpost 7.5 RC2 available NOW!

Today we have released Outpost 7.5 Release Candidate 2 with antivirus engine version 5.3 built in. It has gone through some fixes since RC1 and now it is the right time for final touches :)

Antivirus engine version 5.3 delivers higher overall detection rates and enhanced proactive protection against unknown malware. This engine update (50 Mb approximately) takes place automatically for previous versions along with the regular antivirus updates.

Check out Outpost 7.5 RC2 and share your impressions with us.

militto, OSS Pro already has sandbox.sys driver since old version.

Regarding USB virus protection, we'll think about adding it to OSS Free when releasing its 7.5 edition.

What militto probably wanted to say was a sandbox like Sandboxie or Comodo Internet Security.

A driver named "sandbox.sys" alone isn't enough to have a sandbox. What a funny comment.

The RCs are looking good by the way, thanks.

Has it been fixed where the Anti-Spyware module is installed with Outpost Firewall Pro even if you uncheck it?

Ah, now we see what was meant under "sandbox", thank you for noticing.

Currently, anti-virus engine version 5.2 (was first introduced in Outpost AV/SS 7.1 this winter) has an internal sandboxing environment to fight hard-to-detect malware with fluctuating signature.

Regarding user interface for the "sandbox" feature, we'll move on with its development, and tell you when 8th edition feature list will be ready.

Regarding anti-spyware installation over previous installation - will be fixed soon after release which is very close.

Now please fully uninstall previous version to exclude Anti-Spyware installation.
