Will this version be delivered through the update process?

Manny, thank you for your question.

We will collect feedback from users till next Thursday and then will provide an option to upgrade to 7.5.1 right from UI.

Hi,
first question. Do something so that Outpost Firewall Customer could also update via UI.

Second a bug,
open Outpost Firewall UI click pn event Viewer and See the above image and Event Viewer written right to it. The gap between them is very large as compared to Web Control image and others.

Thanks
First one is really needed

Hi Ashish,

Please see our previous comment.

Reported bug will be explored by R&D and fixed in next minor releases.

But can those minor releases can be applied by Outpost Firewall users without downloading the whole package?
We want that if next version 7.5.2 or 7.6 is released then Outpost Firewall can be updated via GUI if someone using 7.5.1 or 7.5

We should prepare and test the difference for such specific upgrade via GUI (installation over old version will be hidden), but in the case of Firewall you would not see the difference between file sizes of original package and "difference".

Windows 7 64-bit + oss pro 7.5 + µtorrent = bsod (ndis.sys)... this makes me a very sad outpost user. hopefully there will be a resolution as i am not the only one suffering from this.

agnitum said...

Try to upgrade µtorrent and contact Support team urgently attaching minidump.

What is happening with the free version of the Outpost Security suite 7.5? Is it going to be out soon or we will have to wait longer? Thanks

agnitum said...

zack, launching 7.5 Free is not our top priority at the moment, we are looking for its release in autumn.

Looks like the detection rate is good but the removal rate needs improvement. Any comments?

Thanks,
David

Dear Rob Miles Hamilton,

It seems that Outpost service crashes due to some unknown reason. We will require additional information to understand why the service crashed. Please, send us minidumps (*.MDMP) that contain debugging information about service crash. They are located in the following directory:

C:\Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\Agnitum\Security Suite\Feedback\ (Windows XP)

С:\ProgramData\Agnitum\Security Suite\Feedback\ (Windows Vista, W7)

Then, please attach them in web form www.agnitum.com/support/

Hi guys,
I'm interceding too for the opportunity to update directly from the UI interface to newer versions, I think it should be a standard feature. Anyway, should I download the install package or wait for that mentioned upgrade option after you will get enough feedback informations? You wrote that 7/14/2011, mentioned next Thursday, which was 7/21/2011 and until today no upgrade from UI works. How long it may take to you? :)

Hi guys, now is 7/28/2011 and still no upgrade from UI available. How long it may take? Should I rather download the install package? It makes me not happy, because I think upgrade from UI should be a standard feature, but looks like I have no other option actually...

agnitum said...

Hi Leonardo, upgrade from UI was not standard feature in Outpost. It is usually turned on when we think it's time to start. We'll inform you.

agnitum said...

Leonardo, sorry for that.

Our R&D plans have slightly changed. Some development and testing is needed as usually.

Now we are discussing the next date for turning on upgrade option in GUI.

We will keep you informed.

David, we will go on with removal rate. BTW, we are not satisfied with attention paid to SmartDecision technology which _is not_ behavior-based analysis, as PCMag's reviewer tries to name it.

Rate for blocking malware is brilliant, as you see.
