Hopefully the freezing issues have been resolved.

why OSS free 7.5 is not releasing ?

agnitum said...

Regarding freezing issues, you'll see the 4-months progress.

Regarding Free version, we have higher priority for serving OSS Pro and Antivirus subscription Service (AV Service) customers.

Thank you, Agnitum. I am eagerly looking forward to its release. :)

There is problem regarding virus romoval it take too much time in virus roval process after completing the virus scan it ake too much time in removal phase in my friend computer it take about 5 minute to remove about 256 malware which is too much time for removing virus

I friend was using athlon 2 x2 with 2gb ram and 320 gb western digital hard drive

please check this issue and i hope that in next version agnitum will remove this issue.

Hope for the best always with agnitum

Dear Guest, having a "problem regarding virus romoval",

Please don't be hurry with removal - cleaning your OS cannot be fast, if you have system already infected with quarter of thousand of different malware samples.

I hope the issues where OpenGL (especially ATI + OpenGL + Outpost Firewall) causes a full system lockup has been resolved. Simply disabling the firewall prevents the lockups.

agnitum said...

Tarun, what is the support ticket # regarding the issue you have mentioned?

Tarun said...

I had not issued a support ticket as of yet. I was waiting to see if 7.5.2 resolved the issue with it being so close to release.

However, I can name several games that cause the issue. Amnesia: The Dark Decent and HOARD are two I can name off the top of my head that cause the lockup.

Is there an estimated day to this release? I'm hopping my ndis.sys BSOD problem will be solved.

You guys said: "until the middle of November, 2011".
Well, we're still anxiously waiting for the update,

It would not be bad if a support for the free mail programs Windows Live Mail and Thunderbird would be included, because some would like to buy no expensive mail programs to themselves.

How abou performance issues? I couldn't use 7.5 and 7.5.1 and had to go back to 7.1 because of serious performance delays:
DPC latency, no audio playback possible
quite often severe delays opening network folders in explorer
severe delays in ADSI requests to domain controller

None of these issues was present in 7.1, so eagerly waiting for 7.5.2

Many Greetings
Michael

We'll revise if we may easily add Windows Live Mail and Thunderbird support into antispam.

7.5.2 is still under _internal_ test, it will be available for beta tests in December. Sorry for delay.

i hope this solves the ndis.sys BSOD, because i'm running without Outpost and with the normal windows firewall and i don't like it one bit.

agnitum said...

7.5.2 version should cover lot of issues.

I have to run without Outpost protection for nearly two months now. (Luckily i still have the Cisco IPS on the network available) Because everytime i use uTorrent or have some more tabs than usual open in Opera; i reliably meet the BSOD originating within ndis.sys (Realtek GigE interface).

Just release a goddamn 7.5.32 Beta (with proper warnings if deemed necessary), i really think about why i bought a lifetime license if i have to live without protection in order to use the machine online.

Because you actually can force your users to update or otherwise they won't receive signature etc. updates, i had no choice going to 7.5.1, which is a crap release IMHO.

...and btw: please cut the crap out of the SW and the GUI. The 4.x to 6.x releases were much more professional looking and handleable, instead of focusing on "pro"-consumers with all those additional feature-creep components.

my computer crashed a couple of days ago and it wouldn't boot anymore. I started in safe mode, then progressed to enabling services one by one. It came to the point where everything else was working except outpost.

How do I repair outpost or must I uninstall it?

Oh and despite several updates my outpost still forgets half it's rules every few months. All of a sudden it just starts prompting me for software I've been using continuously over the previous days weeks months years!

Severe, solid lockups as others indicate, slugish machine speed and drivers can't install. Disable protection and they install fine.

I have never seen Windows 7 BSOD until installing Outpost. I have two applications that connect to stock data services and both of them crash with the NDIS.SYS blue screen error. Outpost has been temporarily disabled in favour of my previous firewall until, hopefully the problem is resolved in the update. That and it just won't learn to keep my accepted permissions.

In late November and early December we have received a lot of information regarding problems you have mentioned.
Do not forget to send your log files to Support team, you will make a great input into fixing the bugs you have personally met!

I've noticed a big performance-issue (win7 pro, x64, 4gb ram, quad-core) when my outpost firewall is active and some programms have changed. its like the GUI is waiting or checking something, is this type of bug also reduced/fixed?

its very annoying to start some programms and having to wait for outpost to have it checked.
maybe its wrong, but with a fresh and cleared program-list its a little bit faster.

agnitum said...

Dear Danny,

Please save and send your configuration file and log files to support team to check what happened.

Thanks in advance!

any info on when the public beta might be?

agnitum said...

We are managing to release in public this version with minor fixes during January.

In November I wrote as comment to this blog entry that I can't use 7.5 because of perfomance issues. Now I installed 7.5.2 Beta 3906 and it looks much much better than 7.5.0 and 7.5.1! DPC latency improved a lot: mostly just a little above 1ms, sometimes below 1 ms and only rarely peaks with more than 4 ms. I could watch a video streamed over the LAN! I haven't noticed the other two problems mentioned in the blog comment neither.

Many Greetings
Michael

Well, I have downloaded and installed latest oss 7.5. I got random system freezes in fresh installed windows 7 64bit for around 5-10 seconds. Even I play a game...

agnitum said...

Dear Guest, have you installed latest 7.5.2 edition? It should not behave this way.

Anonymous said...

Hello, Yes I have downloaded latest oss 7.5.2 from agnitum site.
My windows is fresh installed (win7-64). I just installed two games like qukelive. Durging the play (even web browsing) whole computer is freezenig randomly for few seconds. But it happens not all the time. Maybe 1-2 times per day. I uninstalled outpost and tried other softwares. No problems at all.
All I can say during last day I tested eset, norton, comodo pro and bitdefender. Despite of freezing I prefer outpost due to best firewall with clean and easy rules managment.
Eset firewall is hard to manage ( bad user interface). Bitdefender has weird interface too. I prefer to have full controll under every application. Norton too many options - I am lost :D. Comodo rules creating popups does not give me full control. Just allow connection or not (no ports, ip configuration etc.)
So agniutm make freeze fixed and you will be the best!

Update to my previous post. It was polish 7.5.1 version. I just checked that still no polish 7.5.2 available.
My network chip is Realtek pcie gbe

agnitum said...

Outpost 7.5.2 will be available in Polish in few weeks. It takes some time in local representative teams to finalize the internal tests.

Finally I have solved me freezing problems. Just updated to fresh realtek gigabit network drivers (from realtek site) and problems gone. Those drivers from Microsoft are older.

I am fighting with ndis.sys BSOD about 3 months now, I even replaced my on board network card (ASUS P5KR) to a new one (TP-Link TG-3269), but it didn't solve my problem.
I like Outpost but I think I have to find another firewall too.
