Spyware/adware signatures databases update fixed

According to our internal statistics, about 10% of Outpost users have encountered a problem with Outpost Firewall Pro attempting to update its spyware/adware signatures databases. The major reason for the update failure is that a number of ISPs have had no access to the Agnitum's update server since September 19, 2011. We have already fixed it and bring our apologies to all of those who had faced this issue.

Outpost geography: where do Outpost customers come from?

The geography of Outpost product expansion has reached more countries and continents this year. Now we can proudly say that representatives from 101 countries have already become Outpost clients in 2011.

So where are you from, our customers?

Traditionally it is North American and European countries, we put Russia and Ukraine aside. We noticed a significant sales growth in Latin America, South America and Africa – these regions let us expand the list of 'exotic' countries of our sales.

A number of countries came as a true surprise for us. So let us share :)
  • Andorra – maybe Russian fans have settled in this small country in the Pyrenees, who knows.
  • Bahrain – it is an island in the Persian / Arabic Gulf known not only as a place for Formula 1 but its citizens buy lots of Outpost licenses.
  • Dominican Republic, Bahamas – we've got clients over there, even in this Caribbean paradise Internet threats and hacker attacks exist.
  • Zimbabwe – its capital Harare is known to be the most uncomfortable city in the world, but we've got clients there.
  • Martinique, Guadeloupe, St. Pierre and Miquelon – French by passport, Americans by the geographical location like Outpost almost as their European fellow citizens. St. Pierre and Miquelon is also the North American French territory near Canada.
  • Mauritius and Reunion – neighbors in the Indian Ocean, near South Africa. Different in political systems and dominating religions, these islands provide relaxed style living for tourists from all around the world. Tourist needs meet additional attention from IT security personnel.
  • Sri Lanka became well-known lately since Sri Lankan branch of Anonymous announced that they have hacked famous companies, including Facebook, Google, Apple and Symantec servers.  So, our business is to provide you with the full-packed products to analyze your PC behavior and prevent your PC from becoming a "bot".
  • San Marino – almost independent Italians (don’t tell them they are Italians!). This summer the Pope has visited them while some of Agnitum employees stayed there on vacation.
  • Latvia – the Baltic state, mostly populated by Russian-speaking non-citizens, the 2nd world’s country in terms of average Internet connection speed after South Korea.
  • Tanzania is one of the fast growing countries in Africa that is expected to become the 2nd country on the continent in terms of population by 2050.
  • Trinidad and Tobago is the most southern country in the Caribbean, the piratical republic near oil communistic Venezuela.
We wish a good start in the fall selling season! While we are studying sales geography, Outpost has been expanding on the planet adding more countries to the sales list and preventing Internet threats expansion.
