Outpost 7.5.2 release is postponed

Dear readers, we have re-scheduled the next minor update (version 7.5.2)  release of Outpost Security Suite Pro, Outpost Firewall Pro and Outpost Antivirus Pro until the middle of November, 2011.

The newer version will be available at www.agnitum.com when accurate internal testing will be complete. Now version 7.5.1 is still available for download.

Short history of Outpost 7.5.2 changes compared to version 7.5.1:
  • Enhanced self-protection,
  • Enhanced SmartDecision technology,
  • Minor interface fixes,
  • Anti-spam fixes (for Outpost Security Suite Pro),
  • Most common crashes were fixed,
  • Improved detection capabilities for packed executables thanks to the advanced unpacker technology (for anti-malware engine only).
When Outpost 7.5.2 to be released, you will be additionally notified in our blog and web-site.

Antimalware engine improvement

The antimalware engine update to version 5.4 that we introduced at the beginning of October has brought one more improvement that we would like to draw your attention to. It's a fix in the UPX unpacker module that previously caused BSOD.

50 percent of Outpost new customers came from Kaspersky, Symantec and McAfee


Agnitum's competitive upgrade offer launched back in July is over and we are glad to share the final results.

With the 16,500 participants involved, the program allowed to convert 7,250 active licenses from 21 different vendors over a 10-week period.

Every day 100 users traded in their security solution for Outpost Security Suite Pro or Outpost Antivirus Pro.

According to the final results of the offer:
  • 50 percent of the upgrade requests came from users of Kaspersky, Symantec, and McAfee software; 
  • 40 percent from Avast, Avira, BitDefender, Trend Micro, BullGuard, Eset, and Panda users; 
  • and 10 percent from users of other security vendors’ products.

Antimalware engine update – version 5.4

We are happy to inform you about antimalware engine update to version 5.4.  You might have already noticed it yesterday as it is updated automatically :)
