Upcoming anti-virus core auto-upgrade

The new minor auto-upgrade for Outpost's anti-virus engine was scheduled for the end of the current week. It will be delivered around April 18-20.

The upgraded core has fixed registry handle leak at the engine core initialization. The error could cause hangs in some third party applications, that may prevent some Windows XP machines from rebooting.

The new anti-virus engine carries the internal version number 5.5.0.4 (previous one was 5.5) and works smoothly with the latest malware database format (v14).

As usually, the latest version available for download from www.agnitum.com, will have latest AV engine and its updates (they are incrementally added to the download server on the daily basis).

NB! Users of Outpost anti-virus products should receive this minor upgrade automatically

PS: For our customers who experienced Windows XP to be hanging on reboot and needs to re-install Outpost 7.5.2: please download the package from www.agnitum.com on Friday, April 20, to be sure it includes upgraded AV core.
